GLUMA Desensitizer is a dental product designed to reduce or eliminate pain in exposed cervical areas not requiring restoration and to alleviate or prevent dentinal sensitivity after preparation of teeth to receive indirect or direct restorations. It is compatible with dental adhesives and adhesive resin-based luting materials, and can contribute to the preservation of adhesive interfaces by its cross-linking and inhibitory properties of endogenous dentin MMPs.

The application time for GLUMA Desensitizer is approximately 30 to 60 seconds, after which the surface should be carefully dried in an air stream until the liquid film has disappeared and the surface is no longer shiny. Then it should be rinsed with plenty of water under suction. Rubber dam is recommended for the application of GLUMA Desensitizer to avoid contact with oral soft tissue, as the product contains glutardialdehyde which can cause temporary local irritations or necrosis of the soft tissue.

Numerous clinical studies have shown the efficacy of GLUMA Desensitizer in reducing dentine hypersensitivity. It achieves its effects by precipitation of plasma proteins, which reduces dentinal permeability and occludes the peripheral dentinal tubules. The desensitizing effect can last for at least 18 months without an increase in pain over the course of time.

The unit dose packaging option is the most convenient for single-use applications. The pre-measured amounts of the product in each unit dose packaging ensure consistent and accurate dosing, making it ideal for hygiene appointments. This packaging option is also made from a latex-free material, making it suitable for patients who are sensitive to latex.

Gluma Desensitizer is specifically designed to reduce sensitivity in exposed tooth roots. It is available in various packaging options, including a 5ml bottle, a 40/pack unidose, a standard kit 5ml bottle, and a clinic pack of three 5ml bottles. This product can be used on its own or in conjunction with Gluma Comfort Bond to manage tooth sensitivity.

It is important to note that GLUMA Desensitizer must never touch soft tissue and must be rinsed off with plenty of water by the dental health care professional to avoid irritation of oral soft tissues. Mucous membranes should also be protected by rubber dam.

When using adhesives in total etch or selective enamel etching techniques, GLUMA Desensitizer should be applied after the use of phosphoric acid etching. However, when using self-etch adhesives, GLUMA Desensitizer should be applied before the adhesive.

Gluma Comfort Bond and Desensitizer is a popular product in the dental industry, trusted by many clinicians for managing tooth sensitivity and providing strong bonding to restorative materials. According to a survey of dental professionals, 85% of respondents have used Gluma Comfort Bond and Desensitizer in their practice, and 98% of those users reported being satisfied with its performance.

One dentist who has used Gluma Comfort Bond and Desensitizer in his practice for over a year says, "I've been very impressed with its performance. The syringe packaging is great for restorative procedures, and the 5ml bottle is really convenient for managing tooth sensitivity."

Another dentist notes, "I really appreciate the unit dose packaging option for hygiene appointments. It saves me time and ensures consistent dosing for each patient."

In addition to managing tooth sensitivity, Gluma Comfort Bond and Desensitizer also provides a strong bond to restorative materials. This is particularly important for indirect restorations such as crowns, inlays, and onlays. According to Kulzer, the manufacturer of Gluma Comfort Bond and Desensitizer, the product provides a bond strength of up to 27MPa, which is higher than other leading desensitizers.
